Cosmetic Botox® Treatments
Botox® injections are administered as a series of injections. Commonly treated areas include: the glabella (between the eyes), forehead and/or crow's feet areas. Botox® causes the targeted muscles to relax and the lines to smooth, leaving a softer look.
Cosmetic Fillers
Today’s injectable fillers are safe, natural looking options to restore fullness to the skin to correct moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds, as well as plumping the lips and cheeks. The average treatment lasts six months or longer. Different fillers are used for different purposes and we can help you decide which best meets your needs.

LASER SERVICES
PhotoRejuvination
Laser light treatments are used to improve the appearance of rosacea, vascular lesions, age spots, skin texture, and to reduce large pores.
Resurfacing
Pixel laser (Fractional Resurfacing) treats texture and pigment irregularities such as scars & stretch marks, wrinkles, melasma & freckles. Perhaps one of the best laser treatments currently available, the pixel laser is frequently used to treat acne scars, unwanted texture changes that come with natural aging, and to give a revitalized, fresh look that can take years off of the face. It stimulates new collagen formation and tightens the skin at the same time.
Hair Removal
Uptown Dermatology & SkinSpa can safely and effectively remove unwanted hair with laser technology. Lasers have now become the preferred method of removing hair for several reasons. Most hair reduction lasers target melanin (brown pigment) in a hair. The laser's energy is selectively absorbed by the hair follicle and bulb, and much less by the surrounding tissue. Possible side-effects from laser hair removal are rare, but can include scar or a change in color of your skin. Darker-hair and lighter-skin patients have the lowest risk of side effects, but the Harmony laser can be used safely and effectively on darker skin types.
The speed of the laser makes it practical to treat larger areas such as bikini areas, under arms, lips, chins, and virtually anywhere hair grows.
Due to the nature of the hair growth cycle, several treatments are necessary to achieve the best results. It depends on the area of the body and type of hair, but usually 4 to 5 treatments yield optimal results, with approximately 60% of hair removed with each treatment
Traditional hair removal treatments are temporary, and include waxing, shaving, tweezing, and chemical depilatories. Electrolysis has traditionally been the only way to alter the amount of hair growing on the body; however, pain and slow tedious treatments are two major drawbacks of electrolysis.
Vascular and Pigmented Lesions
Red spots and facial veins occur as a result of age, genetics, sun exposure, and/or lifestyle. Certain types of vascular lesions are present at birth and do not go away with time. Rosacea is a genetic skin condition that can cause flushing of the face and neck, and there are several environmental triggers. Lasers, due to their selectivity, target blood vessels without disrupting the surrounding skin. Depending on the extent of vascularity, discomfort is usually mild and treatments can be tolerated without anesthesia. Some vascular lesions or larger birthmarks, as well as treatment in children, may require topical anesthetic. Healing times and the number of treatments vary depending on the laser used and the area treated.
Age Spots
Age spots (sunspots, freckles, etc.) are pigmented lesions that are usually light brown in color. These unwanted spots can be removed in various ways depending on the nature of the lesion.
The laser light is selectively absorbed by the excess pigment in the lesion. Patients report mild discomfort with rapid healing and few side effects. The lesion will fade over a period of a few weeks. Pigmented lesions usually respond to one laser treatment; however, additional touch-up treatment may be necessary.
